The English Language Arts teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are fundamental to literate citizenship; the ELA teacher supports the development and appreciation of good literature of all types; motivates students to read widely for information and recreation; develops standards for critical judgment of written and oral communications; discovers and develops special talents of students and is attentive to student special needs. EXPECTATIONS, EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor’s degree or higher.• Experience in ELA instruction in an elementary school setting.• Flexibility and a team-spirit work ethic.• Well developed interpersonal skill.· Special Reading Endorsement· Proficient technology skills· Strong leadership and collaboration skills· Strong instructional skills inclusive of oral and written communication
